‘A life worth living is a life worth recording’ – Anthony Robbins
One of my biggest breakthroughs this year was the in the realm of reflection which had a huge impact on my productivity. While I was slow to start with journaling with my first entry was in August 7, 2007 in my beloved Moleskine journal. My entries were sporadic and few and far between.
I realized that while I’m fantastic at handling the ‘micro’ of things and following through with my three Most Important Tasks (MITs) at the beginning of each day, I was horrible with meeting my 90 day goals and yearly goals.
When it came to connecting the ‘micro’ with the ‘macro’ 90 day goals, there was a disconnect because I was missing the ‘in-between’ – the weekly review. In each of my ‘Categories of Improvement’ in my life that linked the daily goals (MITs) to weekly reviews to 90 day goals and finally to yearly goals that allowed me to make the make the massive strides in progress possible this past year.
